In 2010, a group of female American filmmakers came to South Africa to teach twenty young women how to cover the World Cup as local journalists. This film follows the journey of one of these initiate filmmakers, Tebogo Tsotetsi, a young South African girl, and the impact that the 2010 FIFA World Cup had on her, as she participates in Global Girl Media, a US-based journalism training program that helped her cover the World Cup as a rookie journalist. Tebogo shares her personal struggle to overcome the death of her mother to HIV/AIDS, and the pressure she has a young woman living in Soweto, with few job opportunities or support. Her exuberance during the World Cup and how it inspires her to pursue a dream of journalism plays out amidst the backdrop of a nation transformed by this world sporting event.
